Partridge Well Drilling Co., Inc. has been providing water well drilling and pump services to Northeast Florida since 1892.
A lot has changed since our first wells were drilled. In those early days, drilling rigs were built with wooden masts that had to be assembled and disassembled at each jobsite. Equipment was transported by horse-drawn wagon, and the rigs were powered by steam.
Today, we use modern drilling equipment, technology and construction methods that would have been unimaginable to the generations who came before us. But one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to doing quality work and taking care of the customers and communities we serve.
Six Generations of Partridge
For more than a century, Partridge Well Drilling has remained a family-owned and operated business.
Through six generations, each generation of the Partridge family has helped the company adapt, grow and improve while carrying forward the experience and reputation built by those who came before them.
That continuity has allowed Partridge Well Drilling to combine generations of local knowledge with the equipment, technology and capabilities of a modern water well contractor.
From Horse-Drawn Rigs to Modern Drilling
The equipment may look very different today, but drilling wells has always required experience, skill and an understanding of what lies beneath the ground.
Over the years, Partridge Well Drilling has constructed thousands of wells throughout Northeast Florida for homeowners, businesses, municipalities and other organizations.
Our experience ranges from residential and irrigation wells to large public water supply, commercial and specialty drilling projects.
That range of experience has given our team knowledge that can only be developed through decades of working in Northeast Florida’s unique groundwater conditions.
Continuing the Family Tradition
Today, Partridge Well Drilling remains family owned and operated, with brothers Merritt and Lance Partridge representing the sixth generation of the Partridge family to help lead the company forward.
Together, they continue to build on more than 130 years of experience while investing in the people, equipment and technology needed to serve the next generation of customers throughout Northeast Florida.
For Merritt and Lance, carrying on the family business means more than simply carrying the Partridge name. It means protecting a reputation that five generations before them worked to build — while continuing to grow and strengthen the company for generations to come.
